Dairy Farmer, Philadelphia Eagles Get Dairy to Students

Diane Hoover from Brook Corner Holsteins in Lebanon, Pa., joined American Dairy Association (ADA) North East to partner with the Philadelphia Eagles and Fuel Up to Play 60 to ensure students at Philadelphia’s Clara Barton Elementary School have access to nutritious milk and dairy foods at school.

The school was one of two Philadelphia schools to receive a Hometown Grant for $5,000 that will be used to purchase mobile meal carts for students to enjoy yogurt smoothies, parfaits, hot chocolate milk and milk. For many students, school meals provide more than 50% of their daily nutrition and have become a lifeline to many children and families.

The grants are provided by the Eagles as part of Fuel Up to Play 60, the partnership between the National Football League and the National Dairy Council. ADA North East worked with the team to identify which Philadelphia schools are active in Fuel Up to Play 60 programs.
