Chanin Mountz, a dedicated member of the Fulton County Farm Bureau, received the prestigious Outstanding Woman in Agriculture Award at the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau's 74th Annual Meeting on November 17th.
The award recognizes exceptional leadership and significant contributions to the agricultural community.
As the administrative secretary of Fulton County Farm Bureau and chair of its Women's Leadership Committee, Mountz has been instrumental in driving agricultural development and community service in the region.
Mountz entrepreneurial spirit is evident in the success of Pineloft Landscape and Garden Center, a thriving business she founded and grew over 18 years.
“If I had to tell my younger self what I’d be doing today, I would’ve never envisioned this,” Mountz said. “Owning greenhouses and being so deeply involved in the agricultural community has been an incredible learning experience.”
Mountz's leadership extends beyond her business ventures. Mountz has been a catalyst for initiatives that benefit both Farm Bureau members and the broader community.
This year, she spearheaded the inclusion of the Pennsylvania Friends of Agriculture Foundation's GIANT Immersion Lab at the Fulton County Fair and is currently organizing a manure pit training program for local volunteer firefighters.
Mountz commitment to community service is also evident in her involvement in blood drives and other outreach activities.
Mountz credits her success to the support of her community.
“Having people around you who share your mindset and are there as a sounding board on tough days is invaluable,” Mountz said. “We all play a role in this larger agricultural puzzle. Being named the Outstanding Woman in Agriculture for Pennsylvania is a tremendous honor. What we do in Fulton County is just part of our daily lives serving the community and supporting agriculture. To be recognized for this is truly humbling.”
Pennsylvania Farm Bureau's Outstanding Woman in Agriculture Award celebrates individuals who embody leadership, community service, and agricultural excellence.
Mountz's contributions exemplify these values, inspiring others to engage in and support Pennsylvania's agricultural community.
