Adopt a Cow - Agriculture's Fun Discovery

Adopt a Cow - Agriculture's Fun Discovery

Discover Dairy's "Adopt a Cow" program is back for the 2023-24 school year, offering an exciting opportunity for elementary and middle school classrooms to get a firsthand look at dairy farming.

Partnered with the Dairy Alliance, this educational series brings interactive lessons and activities to students across the Southeast, including Pennsylvania.

Last year, over 40,000 classrooms participated, engaging nearly half a million students. The program caters to both rural and urban schools, fostering a deeper understanding of agriculture and dairy farming.

The "Adopt a Cow" program pairs each classroom with a calf from a dairy farm, providing updates throughout the year through photos, videos, and activity sheets.

The free curriculum and hands-on learning activities offered by Discover Dairy enable students to explore the dairy industry and its impact on food science, economics, the environment, and communities.

This year, new lessons target high school students, broadening the program's scope.

Enrollment is open until September 15, 2023, allowing educators to seize this unique opportunity to connect children to farming, animals, and the outdoors.

By fostering curiosity and knowledge, the program creates a profound respect for the dairy industry and the hard work of dairy farmers.
