Pennsylvania Soybean Harvest Ahead of Average

According to the National Agricultural Statistics Service in Pennsylvania, there were 6.5 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending Sunday.

Topsoil moisture supplies were 20 percent very short, 50 percent short, and 30 percent adequate. Subsoil moisture supplies were 31 percent very short, 39 percent short, and 30 percent adequate.

Corn harvested for grain advanced to 23 percent, up from from 13 percent the previous week, but behind the five-year average of 32 percent. Corn for silage was nearing completion at 97 percent.

The Pennsylvania soybean was at 40 percent, slightly ahead of last year at 38 percent but well ahead of the five-year average of 28 percent.
