State's Winter Wheat Crop in Good Condition



According to the National Agricultural Statistics Service in Pennsylvania, there were 6.0 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending Sunday.

Topsoil moisture supplies were 4 percent very short, 34 percent short, and 62 percent adequate. Subsoil moisture supplies were 2 very short, 22 percent short, and 76 percent adequate.

The state's apple crop condition was rated at 6 percent very poor, 5 percent poor, 3 percent fair, 85 percent good and 1 percent excellent. Peaches were rated 10 percent very poor, 0 percent poor, 15 percent fair and 75 percent good.

PEnnsylvania corn was rated 2 percent poor, 10 percent fair, 70 percent good and 18 percent excellent, while the soybean crop was 1 percent poor, 12 percent fair, 74 percent good and 13 percent excellent.

Winter wheat was 12 percent fair, 77 percent good and 11 percent excellent.
