The Pennsylvania Farm Bureau Columbia County (PFBC Columbia County) successfully concluded its Agriculture Camp in June, offering a dynamic learning experience for students of various age groups.

Held at Rohrbach's Farm, the camp fostered a collaborative effort between PFBC Columbia County, the Bloomsburg Children's Museum, and the Mobile Ag Lab. The Mobile Ag Lab, open to the public throughout the camp, featured informative presentations by guest speakers, enriching the overall program.

Tailored Learning Experiences:

  • Homeschool Day: Designed for students aged 5 and above, this program launched the camp with age-appropriate activities.
  • Kindergarten-5th Grade: This segment employed interactive lessons to educate participants on diverse agricultural themes.
  • 6th-8th Grade: This track provided a more in-depth exploration of agriculture, equipping students with practical skills.

"The camp thrives on creating a fun and relaxed environment where students are actively engaged," remarked Laurie Brundage, the Mobile Ag Lab teacher.

Camp Registration:

  • Homeschool Day: Fee structure varied based on age and number of attendees.
  • Kindergarten-8th Grade: $45 registration fee with a $25 deposit required to secure a spot.

This impactful camp was sponsored by PFBC Columbia County, underscoring their dedication to fostering agricultural knowledge. The Pennsylvania Friends of Agriculture Foundation, a longstanding collaborator with the Farm Bureau, also played a vital role in promoting this educational initiative.
