Center for Dairy Excellence Names Sara Stoltzfus as 2026 Intern

By Blake Jackson

The Center for Dairy Excellence has selected Sara Stoltzfus as its 2026 education and communications intern, where she will support dairy education initiatives and outreach efforts that benefit Pennsylvania’s dairy industry.

Stoltzfus is a rising senior at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, majoring in Animal Science with a concentration in Animal Management.

Stoltzfus is actively involved in campus organizations, serving as Senior Co-President of the UMass Livestock Judging and Quiz Bowl (NESA) team and Publicist for the UMass Ballroom Dance Team.

Hands-on experience for Stoltzfus includes working at the UMass Livestock Farm, Mapleline Farm, and Devine Dairy Farm, where she manages calf care.

“Sara brings a blend of real-world dairy experience, marketing experience, and passion for promoting to our team,” said Jayne Sebright, Executive Director of the Center for Dairy Excellence. “We are excited to see that passion come to life this summer.”

Raised on Pennwood Farms, a 700-cow dairy operation in Berlin, Pennsylvania, Stoltzfus has participated in numerous dairy organizations, including the Somerset 4-H Dairy Club, Pennsylvania Junior Holstein Association, and the Somerset Dairy Promotion Team.

“Ever since I was a dairy princess [in] my senior year, I have wanted to have a career in promoting the dairy industry. I am excited to have this opportunity to see behind the curtain on the planning and time that goes into various events that promote the dairy industry and educate the public,” Stoltzfus said.

“With a dream to promote the industry in New England, this internship will take me one step closer to achieving it.”
