Northeast Farm Real Estate, Land Values Increase

The United States farm real estate value, a measurement of the value of all land and buildings on farms, averaged $3,160 per acre for 2019, up $60 per acre (1.9 percent) from 2018, according to the USDA's National Ag Statistics Service.

In the Northeastern Region, the overall value increased by $140 per acre (2.5 percent) from last year. Changes from 2018 among publishable states ranged from a 0.8 percent decrease in Connecticut to a 6.4 percent increase in Delaware. Pennsylvania was up 3.5 percent to $6,470 per acre. New York was up .6 percent to $3,250 per acre

The United States cropland value averaged $4,100 per acre, an increase of $50 per acre (1.2 percent) from the previous year.

In the Northeastern Region, the overall value increased by $100 per acre (1.7 percent) from last year. Changes from 2018 among publishable states ranged from a 0.4 percent increase in New York to a 5.9 percent increase in Delaware. Pennsylvania saw a 2 percent increase.

The United States pasture value averaged $1,400 per acre, up $30 (2.2 percent) from 2018.

In the Northeastern Region, the overall value increased by $100 per acre (2.7 percent) from last year. Changes from 2018 among publishable states ranged from a 1.9 percent decrease in New York to a 4.8 percent increase in Pennsylvania.
