Pennsylvania Farmers Get 4.5 Days for Fieldwork

Pennsylvania had a good week for field activities with an average of 4.5 days suitable for fieldwork. Temperatures were reported with a high of 87F, a low of 38F and a state average temperature of 63F) Cooler weather compared to last week with mixed
reports of rain scattered across the state.
First corn plantings still look decent but fields that were late to plant may switch to soybeans.
Hay was cut with some difficulty as a result of weather delays and wet conditions.
Despite wet conditions, damage from slugs and cereal leaf beetles was reported as "insignificant" as operators turn their attention towards wheat scab prevention.
Field activities this week included spraying, scouting for wheat scab and cutting hay.
