Lancaster County Youth Wins Grand Champion Jr. Market Steer
Pennsylvania Ag Connection - 01/11/2021

Hayden Weaver of Ephrata, Lancaster County took home Grand Champion Jr. Market Steer honors with his 1,505-pound crossbred, Shawty, Saturday at the 2021 Pennsylvania Farm Show Jr. Market Steer Competition. Weaver and Shawty also took home Champion Crossbred.

Bayleigh Miller of Volant, Lawrence County won Reserve Grand Champion Market Steer with Frosty, which also won Reserve Champion Crossbred.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the cattle were judged without youth on-halter. Youth dropped off their cattle at New Holland Sales Arena for judging, followed by a sale open only to registered bidders. Sale results will be released on a later date.

New Holland Sales Arena, and other agricultural auctions, follow guidance issued by the Department of Agriculture to safely maintain essential operations and keep food moving into the state's supply chain.

Official show results can be found on the Farm Show website. The virtual 2021 Pennsylvania Farm Show runs through Jan. 16 and features hundreds of online educational opportunities and ways to explore Pennsylvania agriculture.
