Help Conservation by Counting Your Backyard Birds
Pennsylvania Ag Connection - 02/08/2019
Love birdwatching? Consider participating in this year's Great Backyard Bird Count! This free and fun citizen science program takes place Feb. 15-18.
To participate, look out your window and see what birds are in your backyard or at your feeder(s) during the four days of the count. You will need to submit a checklist online for each day that you count.
Your data is important to the bird population snapshot that biologists analyze, which makes a difference in bird conservation.
Typically, there are about 15-20 common species of birds that will visit your feeders and yards during the count. Audubon Pennsylvania offers resources at pa.audubon.org/audubon-home to help you participate.
