Wet Fields Limit Pennsylvania Fall Seeding

Pennsylvania had a poor week for field activities with an average of 2.5 days suitable for field work. Temperatures were reported with a high of 68F, a low of 15F and a state average temperature of 42F. Cold rainy weather continued last week, providing very
little opportunity for late-season field work. S
ome corn and soybean fields remain unharvested while quality continues to decline. Wet fields also limited progress with fall seedings.
Field activates, where conditions permitted, were focused on harvesting, planting and spreading manure.
