Cool, Wet Weather Slows Pennsylvania Harvest
Pennsylvania Ag Connection - 11/21/2017

Pennsylvania had a good week for field activities with an average of 4.5 days suitable for field work.

Temperatures were reported with a high of 67F, a low of 17F and a state average temperature of 34F. Temperatures continued to drop as the end of the season approaches.

Cover crops have emerged even with the rain and cold conditions, small grains look fairly decent. Rain was reported in some areas during the week, which restricted the amount of field work.

The apple harvest is complete.

Cool, wet weather has slowed the harvest of corn and soybeans due to wet soil conditions.

Main activities for the week we're harvesting, chopping and bailing corn fodder, and spreading manure.
