Weather Has Not Been Kind to Pennsylvania Farmers

Pennsylvania had a fair week for field activities with an average of 4.0 days suitable for field work. Temperatures were reported with a high of 77F, a low of 26F and a state average temperature of 48F.
Weather has not been kind to late harvests with cold weekend rains causing further damage to already wet field crops.
Corn and soybean harvests continued when weather allowed but quality has declined rapidly, particularly with soybeans, amidst unfavorable weather. Some sightings of rot have even been reported on fall seedings in low lying areas.
Apple harvests are nearly completed with no improvement to quality, adding to concerns over shipping and storage.
Field activities focused on corn and soybean harvesting and fall planting.
