Angus Bull Sells for Record $800,000 at Auction
USAgNet - 02/20/2018

At 14 months old, Angus bull SAV Elation 7899 has become the highest-priced bull ever sold at public auction, selling for $800,000 to two ranchers in Missouri and Oklahoma, breaking last year's record of $750,000.

Elation was produced by Schaff Angus Valley of Saint Anthony, North Dakota, and bought by Square B Ranch and Cattle Company of Warsaw, Missouri, and Bogle Ranch LLC of Langley, Oklahoma. "Elation is out of the longstanding cow family of Schaff Angus Valley, who has the best cow herd in the world, and we're building a good partner in David Bogle of Bogle Ranch in Oklahoma," said Brian Bell, owner of Square B Ranch and Cattle Company.

Elation is a grandson of N Bar Emulation EXT, who Bell says is arguably one of the best Angus bulls in the last 25 years. He has a highly desirable balance of traits, including low birth weight, high growth, and excellent beef quality.
