Kwik Trip Acquires PDQ Store Chain

The Kwik Trip convenience store chain is acquiring another Wisconsin-based gas and c-store company. Kwik Trip, which is headquartered in La Crosse, will take over the assets of PDQ, a Middleton company that operates 34 convenience stores in southeastern Wisconsin.
Kwik Trip owner Mark Zietlow says the move will result in the addition of about 1,000 new jobs as his company plans to remodel the existing PDQ stores. Those locations will keep their identity until mid-2018 when they will be revamped and renamed.
PDQ had previously operated stores in the Twin Cities area, but has since sold off those properties.
Kwik Trip has 570 store locations in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa and employs more than 19,000 employees.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
